From Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the creative minds behind “The LEGO Movie” and “21 Jump Street,” comes a new take on Marvel’s resident webslinger. The first ever fully animated “Spider-Man” movie hits theaters on December 14th, it’s already receiving impeccable reviews, currently sitting at a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Shameik Moore as Brooklyn teen Miles Morales and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one person can wear the mask. The voice cast also includes Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Nicolas Cage and many more.

Miles Morales, created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, made his comic book debut in 2011 as part of Marvel’s “Ultimate” line of comics. Set in a parallel universe to the comics’ standard continuity, the “Ultimate” books passed the torch from Peter Parker to Miles following the former’s heroic death. The Gwen Stacy version of the webslinger (affectionately known as Spider-Gwen), made her comic book debut a few years later as part of a “Spider-Verse” event that inspired the new movie.

A Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation release, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman. Look for it in theaters December 14, 2018.
