The game is afoot in the 'Holmes & Watson' trailer
Columbia Pictures has just released the trailer for their upcoming comedy “Holmes & Watson” and you can check it out in the player above. The December 21st release reunites “Step Brothers” stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, setting them as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s iconic detective pair.
The “Holmes & Watson” cast also includes Rebecca Hall (“Iron Man 3,” “The Gift”), Rob Brydon (“Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story,” “The Trip”), Kelly Macdonald (“Trainspotting,” “No Country For Old Men”) and, as Sherlock Holmes’ arch nemesis Professor Moriarty, Ralph Fiennes (“The Grand Budapest Hotel,” “The Constant Gardener”).
Ferrell himself serves as producer on “Holmes & Watson” alongside Adam McKay, Jimmy Miller and Clayton Townsend. The film is directed by Etan Cohen, who previously directed Ferrell in “Get Hard”. Cohen also supplied the screenplay for that 2015 comedy.
“Holmes & Watson” has some stiff competition on December 21st. That same day sees the release of Warner Bros. Pictures’ DC Comics adaptation “Aquaman,” Paramount Pictures’ “Transformers” spinoff prequel “Bumblebee,” and, just announced today, a big screen re-release of 20th Century Fox’s “Deadpool 2,” offering a totally new, PG-13 cut.
