A new Marvel Studios video asks, ‘Who is the Wasp?’
Two weeks from today, Marvel Studios is inviting fans to return to theaters for the latest chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Peyton Reed’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp” continues the adventure started in the director’s 2015 original, this time bringing Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne into the spotlight as the winsome Wasp. If you’re not familiar with the character’s comic book history, look no further than the player above, as a new featurette details the Wasp’s important role as a founding Avenger.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” also sees the return of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Michael Peña as Luis, Bobby Cannavale as Paxton, Judy Greer as Maggie Lang, Abby Ryder Fortson as Cassie Lang, Tip “T.I.” Harris as Dave, and David Dastmalchian as Kurt. The sequel is also slated to feature the debut of Laurence Fishburne as Bill Foster, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” is officially described as follows:
From the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes “Ant-Man and the Wasp,” a new chapter featuring heroes with the astonishing ability to shrink. In the aftermath of “Captain America: Civil War,” Scott Lang grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a super hero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from the past.
“Ant-Man and the Wasp” hits theaters July 6, 2018.
