Dive deep with an extended 'Aquaman' trailer

Warner Bros. Pictures has just released an extended look at their highly anticipated upcoming DC Comics adaptation “Aquaman”. Check it out in the player above and, below, check out a still that shows off Jason Momoa’s Arthur Curry in the classic Aquaman costume:

The Aquaman movie is coming to theaters December 21, 2018.

Directed by James Wan (“The Conjuring,” “Furious 7”), “Aquaman” features the return of “Justice League” star Jason Momoa as the ocean-dwelling hero alongside a cast that includes Amber Heard (“Justice League,” “Magic Mike XXL”) as Mera, Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe (“Platoon,” “Spider-Man”) as Vulko, Temuera Morrison (“Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones,” “Green Lantern”) as Tom Curry, Dolph Lundgren (“The Expendables”) as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Baywatch,” “The Get Down”) as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson (“The Conjuring,” “Watchmen”) as Orm/Ocean Master, Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman (“The Hours,” “Lion”) as Atlanna and Ludi Lin (“Power Rangers”) as Atlantean Commando Captain Murk.

The film reveals the origin of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be: a king.

Wan directs from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (“The Conjuring 2”) and Will Beall (“Gangster Squad”), from a story by Geoff Johns & James Wan and Will Beall. Originally, the Aquaman character was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger for “More Fun Comics” in 1941.

“Aquaman” hits theaters December 21, 2018.
