A Red Band 'BrightBurn' clip is not for the squeamish
An extended Red Band clip is now online from “Brightburn” and it’s definitely not for the faint of heart. If you’re looking for the kind of twisted and disturbing that only the mind of James Gunn can deliver, however, look no further than the player below!
From the mind of Marvel‘s “Guardians of the Galaxy” director comes a twisted take on one of the most iconic pop culture stories of all time. With “BrightBurn,” Gunn aims to subvert the traditional “Superman” origin story. A strange visitor from another planet still arrives on Earth with powers and abilities beyond those of mortal men. This time, however, that visitor is not destined to become a hero.
The “BrightBurn” cast includes Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones and Meredith Hagner.
Scripted by Mark Gunn & Brian Gunn and directed by David Yarovesky, “BrightBurn” is produced by James Gunn and Kenneth Huang with Mark Gunn, Brian Gunn, Dan Clifton, Simon Hatt and Nic Crawley serving as executive producers.
In addition to his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, James Gunn previously offered a twisted take on costume heroes with his 2010 comedy “Super”. Next up, he’s heading into the DC Universe proper for “The Suicide Squad,” set for release in 2021.
Look for “BrightBurn” on the big screen May 24.
