Exclusive Video: Meet Bumblebee's new friend, Jorge Lendeborg Jr.
The Autobot extended family is about to get even bigger when “Bumblebee” hits theaters this Friday. In the new film, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. plays Memo, an ordinary (if somewhat awkward) teen neighbor of Hailee Steinfeld’s Charlie Watson. Memo has a bit of a crush on Charlie and the last thing he’s expecting is that her new best friend is a giant yellow shapeshifting robot from outer space.
When you check out “Bumblebee” on the big screen this weekend, be sure to see it at a Regal Cinemas location in RealD 3D. You’ll receive our first ever Moviebill Flip, a new design that folds out into a poster! What’s more, you’ll be able to use your Moviebill scanner in the Regal app to see not just Jorge Lendeborg Jr., but more exclusive interviews with the “Bumblebee” cast!
From Paramount Pictures, “Bumblebee” is set in the year 1987, catching up with the title hero on the run. He soon finds refuge in a small Californian beach town junkyard. Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers a battle-scarred and broken Bumblebee. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary yellow VW bug.
“Bumblebee” represents a few firsts for the “Transformers” franchise. Not only does the film mark the series’ first spinoff and first prequel, “Bumblebee” is the first live action “Transformers” movie not to be directed by Michael Bay. This time, Laika Studios founder Travis Knight is helming from a screenplay by Christina Hodson. Knight, who has long served as an animator, made his directorial debut with the 2016 stop-motion adventure “Kubo and the Two Strings.”
Catch “Bumblebee” on the big screen December 21st and make sure to see it in RealD 3D to receive your Moviebill Flip.
