Cons go pro in the 'Ocean's 8' Trailer

Warner Bros. Studios released a trailer December 17 for “Ocean’s 8,” the “Ocean’s Eleven” spinoff starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway. An official press release issued by the studio offers scant details about the plot but provides background on the film’s expansive cast and its amazing crew:

The tide has turned and it’s a whole new “Ocean’s” when eight women plan and execute a heist in New York. Oscar winner Sandra Bullock stars in the title role, alongside Oscar winners Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, with Rihanna and Oscar nominee Helena Bonham Carter. Oscar-nominated filmmaker Gary Ross is directing. Ross directs from a screenplay he wrote with Olivia Milch (upcoming “Dude”), with Steven Soderbergh and Jon Kilik producing, Michael Tadross, Susan Ekins, Sandra Bullock, Diana Alvarez and Bruce Berman executive producing, and Milch coproducing. Filming is taking place in and around New York City.

In “Ocean’s 8,” Bullock plays Debbie Ocean, the estranged sister of Danny Ocean (George Clooney in the original trilogy). Early reports indicated that Clooney would not return for this film, but Matt Damon would reprise his role as Linus Caldwell. Featuring a heist that takes place during the annual Met Gala, luminaries from the acting and fashion world are set to make appearances, including Anna Wintour, Alexander Wang, Zac Posen, Derek Blasberg, Lauren Santo Domingo, Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, Kylie Jenner, Katie Holmes, Dakota Fanning, Damian Lewis, Olivia Munn, Hailey Baldwin and Zayn Malik.

“Ocean’s 8” opens in theaters June 8, 2018.
