Tom Hardy gets scary in the full 'Venom' trailer

On the heels of its debut earlier this month at Comic-Con International, Sony Pictures has brought online a second full trailer for “Venom”. Check it out in the player above!

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (“Zombieland,” “Gangster Squad”), “Venom” is based on the Marvel Comics character that debuted in 1984 in the pages of “The Amazing Spider-Man.” The big-screen take sets Tom Hardy (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “The Revenant”) as Eddie Brock, an ordinary man who bonds with an alien symbiote that gives him superhuman abilities but also threatens to transform his personality into something monstrous.

Details remain scarce on the film, but Sony Pictures released a brief synopsis of the film:

“One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award–nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.”

“Venom” also stars Michelle Williams (“All the Money in the World”), Riz Ahmed (“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”) and Reid Scott (HBO’s “Veep”). The film is scripted by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner (“Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”), Kelly Marcel (“Fifty Shades of Grey”) and Will Beall (the upcoming “Aquaman” adaptation).

“Venom” opens in theaters October 5, 2018. What do you think of the new trailer? Let us know on Twitter @TheMoviebill!
