Home is calling on the ‘Aquaman’ movie poster
Directed by James Wan (“The Conjuring,” “Furious 7”), “Aquaman” features the return of “Justice League” star Jason Momoa as the ocean-dwelling hero alongside a cast that includes Amber Heard (“Justice League,” “Magic Mike XXL”) as Mera, Academy Award nominee Willem Dafoe (“Platoon,” “Spider-Man”) as Vulko, Temuera Morrison (“Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones,” “Green Lantern”) as Tom Curry, Dolph Lundgren (“The Expendables”) as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (“Baywatch,” “The Get Down”) as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson (“The Conjuring,” “Watchmen”) as Orm/Ocean Master, Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman (“The Hours,” “Lion”) as Atlanna and Ludi Lin (“Power Rangers”) as Atlantean Commando Captain Murk.
The film reveals the origin of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime — one that will not only force him to face who he really is but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be: a king.
Wan directs from a screenplay by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (“The Conjuring 2”) and Will Beall (“Gangster Squad”), from a story by Geoff Johns & James Wan and Will Beall. Originally, the Aquaman character was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger for “More Fun Comics” in 1941.
“Aquaman” hits theaters December 21, 2018.
