Watch the first trailer for ‘The House with a Clock in Its Walls’

Universal Pictures has brought online the first trailer for the upcoming big screen adaptation of John Bellairs novel, “The House with a Clock in its Walls”. Check it out in the player above for a look at the spooky, fantastical adventure.

From Eli Roth, the director of “Death Wish” and “Cabin Fever,” “The House with a Clock in its Walls” follows ten year old Lewis Barnavelt (Owen Vaccaro), who moves in with his uncle in a mysterious house where magical creatures live and unexplained events take place. His uncle, Jonathan Barnavelt (Jack Black), reveals that he is, in fact, a warlock, and he lives in a mansion previously owned by an older warlock. It’s a race against time for Lewis and Uncle Jonathan to figure out what exactly the house has planned.

“The House with a Clock in Its Walls” is scripted by Eric Kripke, creator of television’s “Supernatural”. The film’s cast also includes Kyle MacLachlan, Colleen Camp, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Vanessa Anne Williams and Sunny Suljic. It is produced by Mythology Entertainment’s Brad Fischer (“Shutter Island”) and James Vanderbilt (“Zodiac”), as well as Kripke. Executive produced by William Sherak, Tracey Nyberg and Laeta Kalogridis.

“The House with a Clock in Its Walls” will be released by Universal Pictures in theaters September 21. Let us know what you think of the trailer on Twitter @TheMoviebill.
