A new 'Jurassic World' short film arrives this weekend!

In a surprise announcement, Universal Pictures has revealed that fans will have a chance to return to the world of Jurassic Park a lot sooner than previously anticipated. A new Jurassic World short film, titled Battle at Big Rock, arrives this Sunday!

Directed by Jurassic World helmer Colin Trevorrow, Battle at Big Rock is written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim Uprising). Set one year after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, the action unfolds in Big Rock National Park, where dinosaurs are now living in our world. The story follows a family of four whose encounter with these wild animals becomes a terrifying fight for survival.

Battle at Big Rock will premiere exclusively on FX at 9:50pm on Sunday, September 15, following the broadcast of Jurassic World. The short will then be available for streaming immediately following the West Coast broadcast on FX at 10pm PST on NBC.com, Jurassic World.com and the official Jurassic World social media channels.

After Battle at Big Rock, Trevorrow is set to return as helmer of the sixth big screen Jurassic Park adventure. Still without an official title, the blockbuster sequel is schedule to hit the big screen on June 11, 2021.
