Lionsgate drops a 'Bombshell' movie trailer

Lionsgate has just released a teaser trailer for their upcoming Bombshell. Starring Nicole Kidman as Gretchen Carlson, Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly and Margot Robbie as a fictionalized associate producer, the film explores the recent Fox News sexual harassment scandal that lead to Roger Ailes’ resignation in 2016. Check out the movie trailer in the player below.

Based on the real scandal, Bombshell offers a revealing look inside the most powerful and controversial media empire of all time; Fox News, and the explosive story of the women who brought down the infamous man who created it.

Directed by Jay Roach, Bombshell cast also includes Alice Eve, Kate McKinnon, Stephen Root, Connie Britton, Alanna Ubach, Allison Janney and, as Ailes himself, John Lithgow. Although Roach initially made a name for himself as the director of the Austin Powers film franchise, he has recently been exploring real world stories, including the 2012 Sarah Palin biopic Game Change, 2015’s Hollywood Blacklist history Trumbo and 2016’s LB Johnson story All the Way.

Bombshell opens in theaters December 20.
