Everything is possible in a new 'Mary Poppins Returns' trailer

A new trailer has just been released for Walt Disney Pictures‘ highly anticipated “Mary Poppins Returns” and you can check it out in the player above. There’s also a new poster for the film and a trio of new stills that are viewable in the gallery at the bottom of this page.

Arriving more than half a century after the iconic original, “Mary Poppins Returns” has Emily Blunt taking over the role made famous by Julie Andrews, the practically perfect nanny with unique magical skills who can turn any task into an unforgettable, fantastic adventure. Lin-Manuel Miranda stars as Mary’s friend, Jack, an optimistic street lamplighter who helps bring light — and life — to the streets of London. Ben Whishaw plays Michael Banks; Emily Mortimer stars as Jane Banksl Julie Walters as the Bankses’ housekeeper Ellen; with Colin Firth as Fidelity Fiduciary Bank’s William Weatherill Wilkins, and Meryl Streep as Mary’s eccentric cousin, Topsy. The film also introduces three new Banks children played by Pixie Davies, Nathanael Saleh and newcomer Joel Dawson. Angela Lansbury appears as the Balloon Lady, a treasured character from the P.L. Travers books, and Dick Van Dyke is Mr. Dawes Jr., the retired chairman of the bank now run by Firth’s character.Check out the trailer for Disney's Mary Poppins Returns movie.

“Mary Poppins Returns” is directed by Rob Marshall from a screenplay by David Magee and screen story by Magee & Marshall & John DeLuca based upon The Mary Poppins Stories by P.L. Travers. The producers are Marshall, DeLuca and Marc Platt with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer and the music is by Marc Shaiman with songs by Shaiman and Scott Wittman.

“Mary Poppins Returns” opens in theaters everywhere December 19, 2018.
