A new TV spot for 'The Nun' buries you alive

In less than a month, the world of “The Conjuring” returns to the big screen with the franchise’s darkest chapter yet. A Warner Bros. Pictures release, “The Nun” has just released a new TV spot that you can check out in the player above. The film joins a cinematic horror universe that also includes both “Conjuring” films and both “Annabelle” spinoffs, but represents the earliest chronological event in the ongoing narrative.

When a young nun at a cloistered abbey in Romania takes her own life, a priest with a haunted past and a novitiate on the threshold of her final vows are sent by the Vatican to investigate. Together, they uncover the order’s unholy secret. Risking not only their lives but their faith and their very souls, they confront a malevolent force in the form of the same demonic nun that first terrorized audiences in “The Conjuring 2,” as the abbey becomes a horrific battleground between the living and the damned.

“The Nun” stars Demian Bichir, Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet, Charlotte Hope, Ingrid Bisu and Bonnie Aarons. “The Hallow” director Corin Hardy takes the helm, working from a screenplay by “Annabelle” and “IT” scribe Gary Dauberman. Producers include Richard Brener, Walter Hamada, Dave Neustadter, Dauberman, Michael Clear and Todd Williams.

Look for “The Nun” to hit the big screen September 7, 2018.
