New ‘SHAZAM!’ stills showcases Earth’s mightiest mortal
Three weeks from today, Warner Bros. Pictures is set to follow their record breaking “Aquaman” with another DC Comics superhero. Starring Zachary Levi, “SHAZAM!” tells the story of an ordinary kid who, after being granted superhuman abilities by an ancient Wizard (Djimon Hounsou), needs only speak the word “Shazam” to become imbued with the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles and the speed of Mercury. Today, the studio has released more than a dozen “SHAZAM!” stills, all of which you can check out in the gallery viewer below:
From Warner Bros. Pictures and director David F. Sandberg comes an all new DC Comics adaptation. We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam, courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.
Starring Asher Angel as Billy Batson and Zachary Levi as his super powered alter ego, the film’s cast also includes Mark Strong as the villainous Dr. Sivana.
“SHAZAM!” hits theaters April 5, 2019.
