Sit down with 'Freaks' stars Amanda Crew, Bruce Dern and Lexy Kolker

If you’re a fan of sci-fi and horror, Freaks is a new release that should definitely be on your radar. Hailing from the writing and directing pair of Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, the original thriller has been repeatedly winning festival awards internationally over the past year. Starring Lexy Kolker (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as a young girl whose father (Emile Hirsch) has kept her locked in her home her entire life, claiming to be protecting her from a mysterious danger. The truth, however, will keep audiences guessing for the entire 104 minute runtime.

Moviebill had the honor of sitting down with Lipovsky and Stein and some of their impressive ensemble cast, including Kolker, Amanda Crew (Silicon Valley) and two-time Academy Award nominee Bruce Dern. In Freaks, a disturbed father (Hirsch) locks his bold seve-year-old daughter (Kolker) in a house, warning her of grave dangers outside. But the mysterious Mr. Snowcone (Dern) convinces the girl to escape and join him on a quest for family, freedom, and revenge.

Also starring Grace Park, Freaks is produced by Lipovsky and Stein alongside Jordan Barber and Mitchell Waxman. Executive producers include M. Alan Stein, Rick Alyea, Philip Kim and Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard.

A Well Go USA Entertainment release, Freaks opens in theaters on Friday the 13th of September. Click here to find out where it’s playing near you!
