Get ready to head back 'Into the Spider-Verse’ in 2022

Are you ready to head back Into the Spider-Verse? Sony Pictures made an exciting announcement on Twitter today, revealing that the highly anticipated followup to last year’s multiverse spanning animated Marvel adventure will get a big screen followup on April 8, 2022. Check out the announcement video below!

Although very little is confirmed at this time (including the film’s title), the Into the Spider-Verse followup should feature the return of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy. It is also very likely that we will be seeing Nicolas Cage back as Spider-Man Noir and John Mulaney as Spider-Ham alongside other returning favorites. It’s possible that the film will even see Oscar Isaac reprise his post-credits cameo as Miguel O’Hara, the Spider-Man of 2099.

Although 2022 may still seem like a long wait, the Spider-Verse has more than a few other releases to offer between now and then. Jared Leto is set to make his debut as a scientist turned vampire when Morbius hits the big screen on July 31, 2020. A second Venom film is also tentatively set for release next October with more films based on Spidey’s rogues gallery in development. Of course, fans can also look forward to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker returning to the MCU for a third solo film.

Check back for updates on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel as they become available.
