Watch an extended sneak peek at 'Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’

Are you ready for a movie that offers more webslingers than every Spider-Man film to date combined? It sounds like you’re ready to head “Into the Spider-Verse”! In the player above, you can take an extended look at the December 14 release and meet a few of the Spider-Men and Spider-Women that make this animated adventure something unlike anything Marvel fans have ever seen on the big screen before.

From Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the creative minds behind “The LEGO Movie” and “21 Jump Street,” comes an animated take on Marvel’s Spider-Man.

“Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one person can wear the mask. Actor and rapper Shameik Moore voices Miles, alongside a cast that also includes Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Vélez and Lily Tomlin.

Miles Morales, created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, made his comic book debut in 2011 as part of Marvel’s “Ultimate” line of comics. Set in a parallel universe to the comics’ standard continuity, the “Ultimate” books passed the torch from Peter Parker to Miles following the former’s heroic death. The Gwen Stacy version of the webslinger (affectionately known as Spider-Gwen), made her comic book debut a few years later as part of a “Spider-Verse” event that inspired the new movie.

A Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation release, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman. Look for it in theaters December 14, 2018.
