Spider-Men and Spider-Women unite in the new ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’

Are you prepared to enter the Marvel multiverse? If so, you need look no further than the new “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” trailer, which unites Spider-Men and Spider-Women from across different realities!

From Phil Lord and Chris Miller, the creative minds behind “The LEGO Movie” and “21 Jump Street,” comes an animated take on Marvel’s Spider-Man.

“Into the Spider-Verse” introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one person can wear the mask. Actor and rapper Shameik Moore voices Miles, alongside a cast that also includes Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Jake Johnson, Liev Schreiber, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Vélez and Lily Tomlin.

Miles Morales, created by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, made his comic book debut in 2011 as part of Marvel’s “Ultimate” line of comics. Set in a parallel universe to the comics’ standard continuity, the “Ultimate” books passed the torch from Peter Parker to Miles following the former’s heroic death. The Gwen Stacy version of the webslinger (affectionately known as Spider-Gwen), made her comic book debut a few years later as part of a “Spider-Verse” event that inspired the new movie.

A Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation release, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” is directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman. Look for it in theaters December 14, 2018.
