Sony Pictures has just released the first trailer for their upcoming Marvel Comics adaptation, Morbius. In the player below, you can take a first look at the new film, which stars Jared Leto as Michael Morbius, a scientist who, hoping to cure himself of a debilitating disease, winds up transforming himself into a vampire. This trailer has a few suprise cameos as well, so make sure to watch it before getting spoiled!

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Academy Award winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.

The cast of Morbius also includes Matt Smith (Doctor Who, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies), Adria Arjona (Good Omens, 6 Underground), Jared Harris (Mad Men, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows), Al Madrigal (Night School, The Way Back) and Tyrese Gibson (The Fate of the Furious, Black and Blue).

Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House, Life) from a screenplay by Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway, Morbius is produced by Matt Tolmach, Avi Arad and Lucas Foster with Louise Rosner executive producing.

Look for Morbius to hit the big screen beginning July 31, 2020.
