Lionsgates opens the 'Book of Saw' with a new 'Spiral' movie trailer
As Regal Theaters prepare to reopen select locations this week, Lionsgate is looking forward to debuting their long awaited Saw franchise sequel, Spiral. The film, set to hit theaters exclusively on May 14, has today revealed a new trailer, which you can check out in the player below:
A sadistic mastermind unleashes a twisted form of justice in Spiral, the terrifying new chapter from the book of Saw. Working in the shadow of an esteemed police veteran (Samuel L. Jackson), brash Detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Chris Rock) and his rookie partner (Max Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.
Spiral is produced by longtime franchise filmmakers Mark Burg and Oren Koules – who are back once again to shepherd this re-imagining, which is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who helmed three of the most successful films in the Saw franchise to date. The film itself was developed based on Chris Rock’s love of the franchise and features a script written by Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg. The film will be executive produced by Rock, long-time Saw executive producer Daniel Heffner and the original creators of Saw, James Wan and Leigh Whannell.
Look for Spiral to hit the big screen beginning May 14.
