A 'Rocketman' featurette reveals Taron Egerton's transformation into Elton John
This summer, Paramount Pictures is bringing to the big screen a film based on the extraordinary true life of Elton John. In a newly released featurette, you can watch as Taron Egerton (“Kingsman: The Secret Service,” “Sing”) transforms himself into to the rock and roll legend.
In addition to Egerton (who recently starred with Elton John in the “Kingsman” sequel, “Kingsman: The Golden Circle”), “Rocketman” stars Jamie Bell (“Turn: Washington’s Spies,” “The Adventures of Tintin”), Richard Madden (“Game of Thrones,” “Cinderella”) and Bryce Dallas Howard (“The Help,” “Jurassic World”).
An epic musical fantasy about the incredible human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years, “Rocketman” follows the fantastical journey of transformation from shy piano prodigy Reginald Dwight into international superstar Elton John. This inspirational story – set to Elton John’s most beloved songs and performed by star Taron Egerton – tells the universally relatable story of how a small-town boy became one of the most iconic figures in pop culture.
“Rocketman” reunites Egerton with his “Eddie the Eagle” director Dexter Fletcher, who is working from a script by Academy Award nominated scribe Lee Hall (“Billy Elliot,” “War Horse”). Producers on “Rocketman” include Matthew Vaughn via Marv Films and, via Rocket Pictures, David Furnish and Elton John himself.
“Rocketman” is set to hit the big screen May 31, 2019.
