The 'Ad Astra' trailer features Brad Pitt and sci-fi thrills
20th Century Fox has just released a first look at the upcoming sci-fi thriller Ad Astra, starring Brad Pitt. The film hails from writer and director James Gray, who most recently helmed The Lost City of Z. Gray scripted Ad Astra alongside Ethan Gross, best known for writing episodes of Bad Robot’s paranormal thriller series Fringe. You can check out the first trailer for Ad Astra in the player below.
Ad Astra (a latin phrase meaning “to the stars”), follows astronaut Roy McBride (Pitt) as he travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father and unravel a mystery that threatens the survival of our planet. His journey will uncover secrets that challenge the nature of human existence and our place in the cosmos.
In addition to Pitt, Ad Astra also stars Tommy Lee Jones, Ruth Negga, Liv Tyler, and Donald Sutherland. The film is produced by Pitt alongside Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, James Gray, Anthony Katagas, Rodrigo Teixeira and Arnon Milchan.
Ad Astra hits theaters September 20. Check out the film’s poster design below!
