The final 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom' trailer has arrived
Universal Pictures on Wednesday premiered a new trailer for “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” divulging some provocative new details about the upcoming sequel — starting with the fact that dinosaurs not only get off that exploding island alive but get loose on the mainland!
In the final trailer for the film, Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) make the dangerous journey back to Isla Nublar to rescue its remaining dinosaur population from an impending volcanic eruption. Their success is undercut, however, when they discover that Eli Mills (Rafe Spall), the guy who funded their expedition, is planning to auction off their survivors to the highest bidder. Worse, he requested they retrieve Grady’s alpha raptor, Blue, for even more nefarious purposes — to harvest his DNA and engineer an Indoraptor, a deadly upgrade that’s even smarter and more lethal than its genetic forebear.
The trailer also promises plenty of additional dinosaur action in the film, including the reappearance of the original Tyrannosaurus Rex from “Jurassic Park,” and the mammoth underwater beast Mosasaurus, whose return to the open seas threatens an unlucky group of surfers.
The official synopsis for “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” reads as follows:
It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles.
When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” opens in theaters June 22, 2018.
