The new trailer for 'The Grudge' will never let you go

Sony Pictures has just released the new trailer for their upcoming The Grudge, a new chapter in the hit franchise that is coming to the big screen early next year from Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures. Check it out in the player below!

Directed by Nicolas Pesce, The Grudge stars Andrea Riseborough, Demián Bichir, John Cho, Betty Gilpin with Lin Shaye and Jacki Weaver. Featuring a screenplay by Nicolas Pesce and a story by Nicolas Pesce and Jeff Buhler, The Grudge is based on the film Ju-On: The Grudge, written & directed by Takashi Shimizu. Shimizu was also responsible for helming the 2004 American remake/sequel starring Sarah Michelle Gellar and its 2004 sequel, The Grudge 2. A third American film was released in 2009 with Toby Wilkins directing, but The Grudge 3 ultimately went directly to DVD. Over in Japan, however, the series now totals nine entries with the most recent, 2016’s Sadako vs. Kayako, crossing the franchise’s chief antagonist over with that of The Ring franchise.

The new take on The Grudge is produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert and Taka Ichise and is executive produced by Nathan Kahane, Erin Westerman, Brady Fujikawa, Andrew Pfeffer, Roy Lee, Doug Davison, John Powers Middleton and Schuyler Weiss.

Look for The Grudge to open on the big screen beginning January 3, 2020. You can check out the film’s poster below:
