Explore the comic book origins of 'Hellboy' in a new featurette

Before the new big screen take hits theaters next month,  Lionsgate and Millennium Films want you to take a look back at the hero’s comic book origins. In the player below, you can check out  a new featurette that offers a look back at the adventures of Mike Mignola‘s paranormal detective on the printed page.

Based on the Dark Horse comic book character, the “Hellboy” movie hails director Neil Marshall (“Doomsday,” “The Descent”) and follows Hellboy (David Harbour) as he is called to the English countryside to battle a trio of rampaging giants. There he discovers The Blood Queen, Nimue (Milla Jovovich), a resurrected ancient sorceress thirsting to avenge a past betrayal. Suddenly caught in a clash between the supernatural and the human, Hellboy is now hell-bent on stopping Nimue without triggering the end of the world.

The “Hellboy” cast also includes Brian Gleeson as Merlin, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida, Sophie Okonedo as Lady Hatton, Alistair Petrie as Lord Adam Glaren and Daniel Dae Kim‘s Ben Daimio.

“Hellboy” hits the big screen April 12, 2019.
