From Robert Eggers, the writer and director of The Witch, comes an all new cinematic tale, The Lighthouse. Set for release this fall through A24, the film has today released its first trailer, which shows off the release’s black and white cinematography and Academy aspect ratio. A hypnotic and hallucinatory tale of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s, The Lighthouse is directed by Eggers from a script he wrote with his brother, Max Eggers. Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe star alongside Valeriia Karaman. Producers on the project include Rodrigo Teixeira, Lourenço Sant’ Anna, Robert Eggers, Jay Van Hoy and Youree Henley.
The Lighthouse will open in theaters in a limited release beginning October 18 with an expansion to follow.
